Wicked Sweet - Flakie Remix

Same manicure from the last post, but I added two coats of Nubar 2010! I also applied two coats of Essie Matte About you, and you'll see that in some of the pictures below! Spoiler alert: It's awesome.

The Most Beautiful Fail

Holy crap, dude. Amazing, right?...Wrong. It looks so pretty in pictures, but let me take you through this journey in fail. Base: 2 coats of ManGlaze Fuggen Ugly. I then attempted to do my now-signature tiger stripes with a glittery striper (you might have seen some of the matte manicures with topcoat tips and whatnot). The striper is Nail Art by Diamond Cosmetics in Opal Glitter, by the way. Anyways, the striper polish is incredibly thick, so the stripes were just blobs. So, I decided to use the striper stuff all over my nail, since it was pretty. Fast forward to the thick and globby end result. I was unsettled. Nail polish has never before provoked from me that reaction. So I topped the mess with Seche Vite and slapped on some Avon Black As Night matte polish, took some photos and immediately removed the whole mess.

Here are some more pictures of the pretty nightmare:

Matte Black, Pink Tips

My friends, today I learned something. Crackle polish doesn't work over matte polish. This is Avon Black As Night which I received from a lovely friend in a land far away (three coats) with China Glaze Crackle Glaze in Broken Hearted on the tips (two coats, since the first coat barely showed up and didn't crackle anyway [but seriously, this crackle is usually awesome]). I'm getting WAY better at doing the tips. Hooray! I tried to put OPI Silver Shatter (which is amazing under other circumstances) on top of this, and it was not pretty, so I didn't bother taking a picture.

Here it is in the sun:

Orange-tacular Floral Ruffian!

China Glaze Japanese Koi (two coats) topped with Zoya Tanzy (two coats), all topped off with Essie Matte About You topcoat (you guessed it, two coats). Dried flowers are from Born Pretty Store, and I attached them with Orly Top 2 Bottom topcoat.

Here come the pictures!

Japanese Koi by itself (no topcoat to show off the neon satin finish):
